I have just brought this sled for me,
Can you tell me if it is a 2003 or 2004 ?

I now have little time but I will make a lot of questions

I think too that it is 2004 but I am not convinced for 2 reasons

1. ) the VIN is YK3L323093R000 etc. etc. (for ski-doo the number past nine tell the year)
2. ) on the sled is fitting belt 414860700 even the 440 04 fitting 417300253
I sent mail to Stenmark 2 and Maskin, but did not respond.


I now make some questions to you experts:

3. ) Is it possible that the speedometer marks around ~68 hours ?
4. ) I see use 3% mix, oil can i use Motul 700 or 800 (this are oils made ​​for racing mx 2 stroke bike)
instead of oil or BRP snowmobile oil ?
5. ) Can i use the 96 octane instead of 98 ?

3. Push the little button on the speedometer when the engine is running
and you will get the total distance in Km of the snowmobile.

4. As long as you premix your fuel/oil it is just fine to use the Motul 710 2T

1:33 = 3,0 % , Not necessary.

5. Since you have brought a competition snowmobile it depends
on how the engine is set up right now.
For your 440 engine there is different head inserts depending on the compresion there is in the engine.
That determine what fuel octane you must run in it.
To know this you must take your head of and look at the head inserts.
But if you are unsure, always run as high octane as possible to prevent engine damage.

I use 2% of my favorite oil in all of my snowmobiles, Motul 800
Only downside is that they are very hard to start when its realy cold if you use at thick oil like the Motul 800.
Motul 710 makes it alot easier to start when it's realy cold.

I run the most of my 2stroke engines on 95octane,
but if your unsure use 98octane instead.

for the belt ( excusme for my bad english) on my sled is fitted a 414860700
Racing 2003 fitting 414860700 or 417300127
Racing 2004 fitting 417300253

When i start the snowmobile speedometer blink e indicates tripmeter in Km then i press 2 o 3 times appears only 68h57....

For the oil ok, i use motul 800 or 710 /somthing castrol racing 2t in my honda cr 125 and i use it also in my lynx use 2%

I never had a snowmobile and i injuried right arm at July on mx bike i will go slow

Yesterday I measured the squish on my sled with welding wire its 1,25mm
(i see data sheet.. the 440 03 stock had a 14,8:1 of Compression ratio)
my cr 125 should 1,50mm squish an RC 8,8:1

i forgot..........the bottle near liquid cooler cap what is? oil breather? transmission?
