Racing-440 ( 2003 ) Ski shock rebuilding... ?

Hallo
I have a Racing-440 ( 2003 )

My front shock shaft seal is leaking....
( I think it is the same seal as the MXZ-X 440 1998-99 have )

Can someone do it for me ?

Is it simple to rebuilt the seal head ?
Or must you have special tools ?
( Lynx sell the complete seal heads but these cost a lot )

Any good/big Moto-MX dealer/work shop around you in Italy can rebuild your
front shock as long as you suply them with the spare parts !

...If they can rebuild an Moto-MX rear shock absorber they also can rebuid your Snowmobile shock absorber.
The technique is the same.

If you do not find any shop that can help you in Italy,
you could always send them here and I will help you out.

I work as a car mechanic.
So I will rebuild the shocks my self.

Instead of buying the seal assembly ( # 1. in picture ) from BRP,
I will order two replacement sets from Carver.

Remember to use a very thin shock oil because the shock will be used in low temperatures ---> Winter climate.

If you look at different brands of shock oils,
remember to always compare the viscosity rating at: cSt@40°C

Look for a shock absorber oil that has a viscosity rating between: 5-15 cSt@40°C
that will be a good oil for your snowmobile shocks.

Hallo i removed the shock form my sled........i call my brp dealer here in italy for purchase the item n°1 ( seal carrier assembly n°415093819 but he tell this parts its NO available.......i send an a-mail to carver and deycor for purchase the seal kit...but no yet response...

first question if i buy the seal kit form carver it's simple change the seal on complete head oh shock? someone has alredy done?

second question, in Sweden there someone sells the complete head /or rebuliding kit? similar to carver deycore ecc ecc?

i would buy the front 12,5mm shaft and center-rear are 16mm,i think they are equal to ski-doo c46 shock?

someone confirm?

Hi, I rebuliding my shock,
If you are interested here are some photo,
now I'will fit them on the sled and waiting for the snow to come,
so I can test them.
