I had one cobra hood laying around in the garage since 1993.
Always thought it would be nice to find a home for it. Well, 23 year later I found a sled that was in somewhat nice shape. Motor was completely done and also there was plenty to do about everywhere. But after all, I could see it complete and shiny in the end.

I tore whole sled into pieces, bought extra cobra for parts and started building. Heres few pictures along the way.

The look of that chain tensioner is classic on GLS and Cobra models !

thanks! Yeah motor was done, piston drop skirt and it went to rotary valve and of course valve was stuck and it broke gear on rotary valve shaft. Also material from piston was on rod bearing so pretty much only top end was ok. I bought new crank and took case from other motor and built on top of that. New pistons and all, so now it should last forever.

When I was a teenager, my dad use to own ( 1993 ) Enduro
(this hood is from that sled, dad changed hood to 94 and left old to our garage)
so now I am able to get my youth back

Extremely rare that piston skirt brokes on a Rotax RV Engine !

yeah, it was even stock elko. Which is even more rare. Well, hopefully we are now done with that and no need to repair that motor..ever
